TOYOTA CROWN
In the japanes domestic market among the oldest exsisting nameplates other than the landcruiser the crown is among th oldest.
Well its first generattion made its debut back in 1955 as a luxury sedan powered by a 1.5ltr engine and 3 speed manual transmission
it was able to deliver 48 hp and was able to fit six people comfortably
Well 69 years later still in the making it has clearly proven the test of time in the previous years.
It has tried to retain its luxury heritage and elegance since it is commonly built for the japanese domestic market most of them are sold around the world as exports
This is clear indication of the reliability and toyotas spirit of kaizen and continued production.
Perfomance wise iam glad to say its a beast on the road.
Between the late 90's and early 2000's toyota produced a wagon version which if asked it was a beauty.
That generation was powered by the legendary 1JZ engine and some with the 2JZ engines
tuners sourcing for this generation all over the world it also featured luxury options.
Years later toyota decided to up the game and improve coming up with the DBA-GRS series
This generation came with a variety of engine options from the 3gr the 4gr and many more
In 2008 it got some minor changes from the looks and some come with toyotas hybrid synergyy drive that actually powered up the car.
As much hybrids suck and had a cvt transmission it was actually still to drive and good on the road.
Toyota also made a nice budgeet jaguar which had V8 engine it was known as the crown majesta it was luxurious but the fun didn't last
This was the crown majesta.
this one here was the dba-grs series upgrade done in 2013 there was the DBA-A series was out and it still continued retaining its heritage. This generation brought a blend of fueleconomy, reliabilty,a bit of perfomance, class and to not to forget elegance.
Later Toyota went on to improve the crown and made it better with variety of engines to choose from from the common version had 2.5ltr engine with 226hp and the electric motor producing 143hp
Well the current generation revealed in 2023 was recieved with mixed reactions if it is still a sedan or a cross over. This model is powered by 2.5ltr engine. It comes in 2 trims the xle and the platinum
